Traits
Short:
Volus are short and compact due to their evolution. While not well designed to operate in the environments of most other species, their stature does allow them to hide from violent confrontations with some ease. Volus are Silhouette 0.

Under Pressure:
The Volus homeworld is both ammonia-based and possesses higher gravity as well as a high-pressure atmosphere, and as a result the volus are naturally adapted to such conditions. In order to survive in regular pressure environments as well as breathe in a oxygen/nitrogen based atmosphere, they must wear specialized pressure suits.

A volus who is not wearing his pressure suit begins to suffocate immediately and take wound damage as their skin expands and boils due to the low pressure. As a result, volus try to avoid combat in low pressure environments at almost all costs.

A volus who suffers wounds equal to half it’s wound threshold must make a Resilience check against Difficulty 4 (for standard pressure and gravity environments), or suffer an additional wound before the suit’s auto-seal functions correct the damage.

Like the quarians, all volus suits come with emergency liquid rations, waste processing, and drug administration locks so that survival and emergency medical treatment can occur outside of controlled medical chambers.

All volus characters start play with a Light Exo Suit for free, with a Full Environmental Survival Suite.

Proper Environment:
Volus in their native environments have a +1 to their Brawn and Agility as they are freed from the bulky constraints of their pressure suits. However, individual bearing is of less import when among the clans, and Presence suffers a -1 as the volus subsumes themselves back into their natural cultural hierarchy.
